Visiting times

Please do not visit the hospital if you are unwell, or have been exposed to someone who has been confirmed or suspected to have Covid. Visiting times are 2 to 8pm seven days a week. Visiting times outside of these times can be arranged with the nurse-in-charge. Please contact the nurse-in-charge in advance to discuss this.

Patients are allowed two visitors at a time at the bedside, but in special circumstances we will allow more, please speak to the nurse in charge. Children are permitted to visit.

You may be asked to wear a mask, and we ask that you sanitise your hands before entering the ward and upon leaving.

Welcome to Tonbridge Community Hospital

The hospital operates one large ward with 26 beds and an ambulatory care room for ambulatory patients to receive intravenous antibiotics on a daily basis.

On admission to Goldsmid Ward, you will be introduced to members of the multidisciplinary team (MDT) which includes nurses, health care assistants, physiotherapists, occupational therapists and a care manager. You will be involved in the development of personalised care plans and rehabilitation goals which are available for you and you family to view. Our aim is to enable you to recover as much independence as possible prior to returning home.

Getting up and dressed each day will be a key part in aiding your recovery, so please make sure you have day clothes and suitable shoes with you along with any items you may need for your personal care. During your stay we hope you will also be able to enjoy some of our activities which will aid your recovery, progress and well-being.

The MDT will work with you, involving your family and carers, from admission to make sure all support is in place prior to your timely discharge from us.

We would encourage and welcome your family, friends and carers to visit you while you are with us.

On admission, you and your family will be provided with more detailed information about your care and rehabilitation goals and ward staff will be available to discuss any queries you may have during your stay with us.

If you have any queries or concerns regarding visiting our hospital, please contact us on 01732 353653 and a member of the team will be happy to help.
