As part of their commitment to transforming neurodiversity support, NHS Kent and Medway has been exploring ways to help those on the waiting list for ADHD assessments. The uncertainty of waiting for an assessment is stressful and can have a detrimental impact on your mental wellbeing.
If you are on the waiting list for an ADHD or autism assessment, we offer six months of access to the Cogs mobile app for free, which helps you to support your mental wellbeing and better understand neurodiversity. Sign-up to the NHS Cogs app.
The Cogs app has been developed by and with neurodivergent people. The team behind the app collaborate with the neurodivergent community, the University of Cambridge and King’s College London.
The app provides you with:
- tools and techniques to help you regulate your emotions, energy and focus
- strategies to improve your mental wellbeing
- learning resources to better understand ADHD and neurodiversity.
For the duration of the six months, you will have access to the Cogs app whenever and wherever you need it, at no cost to you.
Accessing the app does not impact your place on the waiting list or affect the other forms of NHS support you are entitled to. The NHS has no access to any data you disclose while using the app.
We understand waiting for an assessment can be a challenging time, and it is our hope that the Cogs app will provide you with the additional wellbeing support and information you may need during your wait.
