Finance Team wins award for commitment to sustainability
The Finance Team has won an award for their commitment to environmental sustainability at the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) Kent, Surrey and Sussex Branch Awards.
The team has embraced technology to include carbon reporting, embedding sustainable practices and understanding and managing the carbon emissions Kent Community Health NHS Foundation Trust is responsible for.
The team can run reports about emissions and budget holders and managers are able to view the details on their budget statements and in their monthly financial reports.
Stuart Wayment, Head of Finance Academy South East and Chair of the Kent, Surrey and Sussex HFMA branch, said: “The KCHFT team should be really proud of everything they have achieved.
“This award is a testament to their hard work. It demonstrates how finance teams in the NHS can support the objective to reduce the NHS carbon footprint by 80 per cent by 2030.
“This leading work by KCHFT is a great example of good practice to the wider NHS finance community and example of embracing sustainability and putting it at the heart of what we do.”
Michelle Nott, Finance Business Partner (pictured centre) collected the award on behalf of the team.
