Education drop-ins for professionals working with children
A series of drop-ins for those who work in schools and pre-schools are to be held at The Heathside Centre, Coxheath.
They have been organised by two of our education specialists, Emily Duddy and Stacey Appleby and start in November.
Each session will have an expert on hand who can offer advice, with sessions to include spotlights on speech and language therapy and supporting children who have attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).
Emily said: “We would like to build our relationships with schools and pre-schools, so we are trialling this, initially in west Kent.
“These drop-ins will offer those who work in education settings, the opportunity to come along informally to discuss strategies to support children, interventions and best practice and to ask questions. They are about sharing knowledge, building relationships and networking. Also, we will have specialist resources available for people to look at from books, to sensory toys and educational games.
“They are an opportunity for key workers, class teachers, special educational needs co-ordinators and teaching assistants, to drop in, chat with each other, ask the experts questions, have a hot drink and a piece of cake.”
All sessions will be from 9am until 12noon. The dates are:
