Saying thank you to our AHPs

Our Chief Executive Mairead McCormick has thanked our allied health professionals (AHPs) for their 'tremendous drive to go the extra mile' to help patients on their recovery journey from hospital to home.

We are #KCHFTProud of our 700-strong AHP trust community, who work together across Kent, East Sussex and London, year-round but especially this week as we mark AHPs Day.

AHP colleagues from across the county joined together at an informal and interactive event to mark the national recognition day, set up by NHS England to honour the UK’s third-largest clinical workforce.

"Today has been about connecting in person to celebrate a profession we are privileged to be a part of", Chief AHP Officer Rachel Dalton told us.

"We joined forces to learn more about being an allied health professional and how we work alongside each other to care for our communities.

"As well as sharing best practice and networking with colleagues, there was a buzz of healthy competition in the room when we challenged people's knowledge of our profession with a surprise quiz," added Rachel.

Many of our AHPs attended a series of webinars about career pathways and national updates, as well as our professional achievements ceremony and long service awards event, to complete the week-long celebration.

Our dedicated team of physiotherapists, podiatrists, speech and language therapists, dietitians, audiologists, paramedics, radiographers and occupational therapists, all supported by hundreds of therapy assistants, deliver outstanding care in our hospitals, community clinics and people's homes.
