More than 900 Edenbridge residents have had their say on the name of the new health and wellbeing centre.
The final name chosen by the public is Edenbridge Memorial Health Centre.
Speaking on behalf of all the partners, Director of Corporate Services at Kent Community Health NHS Foundation Trust Natalie Davies said: "I’m pleased the people of Edenbridge have had the opportunity to vote on the name for this new centre.
"This chosen name gives a nod to the memorial hospital and the hugely important connections it has in the town.
"I'm excited to see this project develop; there will be more opportunity for local people to get involved with the garden project and also the artwork to be displayed inside the building."
The process for awarding the developer has started; the project board will announce the final decision on this next step in the autumn.
Natalie said: “Admittedly this is a delay to the original time frame; the process has been held up by the wildlife evaluation on the new site and financial discussions relating to the current hospital.”
“The ground at the new site is now being prepared, tree preservation work has started and the re-homing of the slow worms and newts is also underway.”
The partners in the project are: Kent Community Health NHS Foundation Trust, Edenbridge Medical Practice and Kent and Medway Clinical Commissioning Group.
