Eva ready for the future #TLevelsWeek

This #TLevelsWeek, we’re shining a spotlight on our students joining us to gain valuable experience through industry placements.

East Kent College student, Eva Kirby, joined us as part of her T Level in management and administration.

One day-a-week, 19-year-old Eva works alongside our Education and Development Team in Ashford.

We caught up with her to learn more about her experience so far.

Eva Kirby, T Level, Students looks to camera in an office.“I chose the T Level course because I’ve always been interested in understanding what makes a business successful. I wanted to develop practical skills that will help me succeed in the future.

“My course has given me so many opportunities compared to other pathways. I benefit from classroom-based learning, which provides me with the knowledge I need, as well as my work placement, which enables me to develop skills in a professional environment.

“At college, I am involved in various projects working with our local community. At the moment, we are working on a campaign to collect pillows and blankets for the homeless in our area. I am also working on a marketing campaign for a small coffee company.

“My placement at KCHFT came about thanks to my fantastic career adviser, who helped me secure an administrative role in the NHS. Since starting, I’ve already learned a lot and developed new skills, working with different teams and even managing my own projects.

“I enjoy seeing how everyone collaborates in the NHS. It’s clear how workplace relationships are essential for smooth operations and success. I hope the knowledge I gain from my course will help me pursue a degree apprenticeship in the NHS.

“I hadn’t realised the many opportunities the NHS offers for those interested in business and support roles. As a student entering the workforce, I highly recommend it.”
