Education drop-ins for people who work in schools

school imageTeachers, special educational needs co-ordinators (SENCOs) and others who work with young children are invited to a series of NHS drop-ins, to talk about specialist support.

The drop-ins are an opportunity to talk to experts about attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), speech and language difficulties and other issues. They have been organised by Kent Community Health NHS Foundation Trust (KCHFT).

Set up by two of KCHFT's education specialists, Emily Duddy and Stacy Appleby, they start in November and will be held at The Heathside Centre, Coxheath.

Class teachers, teaching assistants, SENCOs and those working in nurseries and pre-schools or other educational settings, are all welcome.

The sessions offer the chance to discuss additional support some children might need, best practice and interventions. There will be an opportunity to ask questions, share knowledge and advice and to network. Specialist resources will be available too for people to look at, from books, to sensory toys and educational games.

At each session a KCHFT specialist will be available for a question and answer session and to chat.

Sessions will be from 9am until 12noon.
