Children's dental service win award for animation
We are #KCHFTProud of Lindsy Vallayil from our Dental Service who has won the British Society of Paediatric Dentistry’s (BSPD) Outstanding Innovation Award for an animation explaining inhalation sedation to children.
Judges were impressed with the innovative approach to explain the process to the whole family and the QR code link to view making it accessible and environmentally friendly.
BSPD President, Professor Paula Waterhouse said the animation was a "very useful too" to help the significant number of children who need to be sedated for dental treatment saying: “Lindsy was able to come up with a creative solution that will make a real difference. To have such an engaging resource in the form of a simple animation to explain the process and allay fears is a very useful tool.”
Lindsy thanked KCHFT's Communications Team for their help to shape and create the animation which stars her own son and will help the many children who may be worried about being sedated for dental treatment.
