What end of life care means
The end of life usually means the last year of life, although for some people this will be significantly shorter.
End-of-life care is care which helps people with an advanced, progressive, incurable illness to live as well as possible until they die. It allows the supportive and palliative needs of the patient and their family to be met during the last phase of life and into bereavement.
