A proud and emotional day for our graduate apprentices

Apprentices from across KCHFT joined fellow graduates at a ceremony at Rochester Cathedral to celebrate their graduations, which recognised achievements in healthcare, dental nursing and business administration.

Carolyn Scott, Generic Therapy Assistant, pictured, proudly collected her level five assistant practitioner certificate and said:

"It was a very special day with family and friends who were also celebrating their qualifications too. I enjoyed studying for my foundation degree working alongside an amazing colleague in the same department. Lots of extra study whilst working is hard but I'm really proud of my achievement and I'm glad I was able to attend the graduation ceremony."

Daneila Enciu, Advanced Healthcare Assistant, also collected her assistant practitioner certificate on the day:

"Attending the graduation ceremony was a proud and emotional day for me. I started my apprenticeship shortly after I joined the trust four years ago and it was very challenging, especially as English is my second language. I have felt really supported by my managers and colleagues and I feel really grateful to have these learning opportunities. I am now doing the nursing associate course which I am due to complete in May 2023."

KCHFT's Widening Participation and Apprenticeship Lead, Verity Barton, added:

“It was fantastic to see our apprentices celebrate their graduations after a challenging few years of combining study and practice. Apprenticeships offer a fantastic opportunity for our colleagues to learn and develop on the job and we are proud to support them to reach their potential.”
