Kim Reed from Faversham has lost four and a half stones with support from the SWMS programme. Kim, 57, said: “I lost my husband just before Christmas in 2013. He had heart problems, asthma, diabetes and COPD. His illness was emotionally draining for me and I would comfort eat in the evenings. When he died I realised that I had to do something positive about my health.
“I went to see my GP who told me that I was dangerously obese and referred me to the SWMS programme. It’s been brilliant and I’m totally in their debt. It’s boosted my confidence and I’m much happier in myself. I really do think that if I hadn’t started the programme I wouldn’t be here now.”
