Living and working in Kent

Kent is a coastal county in South East England, very close to London and with links to Europe by train and ferry.

Towns in Kent include: Ashford, Dartford, Dover, Herne Bay, Gravesend, Maidstone, Margate, Ramsgate, the Medway towns, Sevenoaks, Tonbridge, Tunbridge Wells and Whitstable. You will also find the historic city of Canterbury in Kent, as well as plenty of rural areas with smaller villages.

All parts of Kent enjoy fast transport links into London and Europe.

What's good about Kent?

Kent has everything you need.

We're home to some of the best beaches in Europe as well as art galleries, stately homes, romantic getaways, fun-filled family attractions, and more than 4,000 miles of exhilarating foot and cycle trails.

Amazing bars, restaurants and cafes. Big name high street shops. Good schools, great opportunities.

We're less than an hour from London by train and with super-fast links to Europe by ferry or Eurotunnel you can be in France in just 30 minutes.

Who we are

We provide wide-ranging NHS care for people in the community, in a range of settings including people’s own homes; nursing homes; health clinics; community hospitals; minor injury units and in mobile units.

We are one of the largest NHS community health providers in England, serving a population of about 3.6million across Kent, East Sussex and London.

We employ more than 5,000 people, including doctors, community nurses, therapists, dietitians and many other healthcare professionals.

We believe in holistic care that treats the whole person, not their condition. We give patients time to focus on what they want to achieve and how we can help them to get there.

We’re part of a large healthcare system that links into large acute hospitals, mental health provision, general practice and public health.

We believe in working together to achieve the best outcomes for patients.
