Improving patient experience and achieving high standards when caring for people with wounds is at the centre of a national programme, which KCHFT is piloting.
The trust is one of just five pilot sites in England to be accepted to take part in the trial for the new wound care strategy programme.
The aim is to achieve high standards of wound care, consistently use the WoundMatrix digital tool – which supports wound care, improve safety and patient experience and outcomes.
It will also result in greater partnership working between clinicians and patients and the introduction of patient-led support groups. The work will involve a review of hard-to-heal patients and sharing patient stories so lessons can be learned.
The programme, commissioned by NHS England and Improvement, runs until 31 March 2023.
