Kent Community Health NHS Foundation Trust’s third large-scale vaccination centre in Tonbridge will now open on Tuesday, 9 February, instead of Monday, due to snow.
Deputy Chief Executive Gordon Flack said: “We have had to take the regrettable decision to delay the opening of Tonbridge by one day due to the adverse weather conditions.
“More snow is expected in the coming hours and we have a responsibility, not only to deliver the vaccine as quickly as possible, but also to make sure people can safely attend. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause, but as travelling conditions may be challenging in the poor weather, we must take this into consideration.
“The NHS will contact anyone whose appointment cannot go ahead and rebook their vaccination while anyone unable to attend their appointment because of adverse weather can rebook using the national booking system.”
No vaccines will be wasted and everyone who is in the identified priority groups will still receive their vaccination.
Our centres in Folkestone and Gravesend will remain open, but will open a little later tomorrow (Monday, 8 February). If, for any reason, this changes, patients will be notified.
